Very Happy Craftmas!

Freitag Mittag ging es los nach Groningen, zu Happy Craftmas, unserem letzten Markt in diesem Jahr. Abends kamen wir im strömenden Regen an, ich nutzte die Couch in unserem gemütlichen Gästezimmer zum Trocknen diverser Kleidungsstücke und die restliche Zeit zum Ausschneiden international gültiger Preisschilder...

Friday we were on our way to Groningen and to Happy Craftmas, the last craft show this year.

We arrived in the evening in heavy rain, we had to dry our jackets and I hat to cut out some international price tags.

Die Location: Ein Traum! Ein wunderschönes altes Postgebäude mitten in der Groninger Altstadt. Allein der Fußboden! Schön!

The location was wonderful! A very beautiful old post office in the middle of the old town of Groningen. Pay attention to the pretty floor tiles!

Lena und Joost hatten sich richtig ins Zeug gelegt, um alles schön weihnachtlich zu dekorieren und haben damit mehrere Tage zugebracht. Und es hat sich gelohnt!

Lena and Joost were decorating the place for several days. It was worth the while!

Pünktlich um 11 waren wir mir dem Aufbau fertig. Ich glaube, wir hatten einen besonders schönen Platz! 

We built up in time until 11 in the morning. I think we had one of the best spaces there.

Am Sonntag gab es nicht nur den DJ, sondern auch Live-Musik. Alles mit einer guten Portion niederländischer Gelassenheit und Spontaneität, die man auf der ganzen Veranstaltung spüren konnte. Ich habe noch nie einen so entspannten und gemütlichen Markt erlebt!

On Sunday then, there was not only a DJ but also some live music being played. Everything was spiced with a good portion of Dutch serenity and spontaneity, noticeable during the whole event. I never attended a craft show this snug and relaxed.

Besonders toll fand ich auch den "Free Tree". Dort konnte man Sachen aufhängen, die man nicht mehr brauchte und dafür etwas anderes wieder mitnehmen. Ich hatte da noch ein paar übriggebliebene Vögelchen-Anhänger beigesteuert, doch die silberfarbene Teekanne war weg bevor ich mich entschließen konnte, ob ich sie nun schön fand, oder nicht....

I especially liked the "free tree". You could bring something you had no more use for, hang it on the tree and take something else instead. I contributed some bird pendants, but the silver tea pot was gone before I could make up my mind whether I like it or not...

Es gab auch Törtchen! Mjam mjam!

There were also little cakes! Nom nom!

Ich muss auch dringend noch so ein Puzzle von Fancy Puzzles haben!

Eventuell dieses oder vielleicht auch das hier...

Großartig auch die Unterhosen mit Schnurrbart bei der Moustache Lingerie und die schönen Stofftaschentücher von Goodbye Johnny!

Thore mit seinen Schnäppchen: Dem grünen Sessel (die Möbel konnte man auch kaufen) und seiner tollen Kachel mit einem Spruch eines berühmten niederländischen Fußballspielers. Beneidenswert! ;o)

Thore and his bargains: The green Armchair (all furniture was for sale, too) and a glazed tile with a saying of a famous Dutch soccer player. Most enviable! ;o)

Am Montag hatten wir noch etwas Zeit, bis unser Bus nach Bremen abfuhr, also sind wir nochmal in die Innenstadt spaziert. Was wir leider nicht wußten: In Groningen öffnen die Geschäfte Montags, wenn überhaupt, erst mittags. Naja, aber es gibt ja auch andere schöne Sachen, als Geschäfte von innen anzuschauen!

On Monday we had a little spare time before our bus departed back to Bremen, so we took another walk into the city. We didn't know that most shops are closed on Mondays in Groningen. But there are other nice things apart from shopping!
