Heute kam wie angekündigt die Stofflieferung an und ich konnte es kaum erwarten, nach Hause zu kommen, um die ersten Exemplare der neuen Tierbörsen zu nähen! Vielleicht mache ich den Hasen noch ein klein weniger adipös, oder was meint ihr?
Today my orderes fabrics arrived. I just couldn't wait for coming home and sewing the first few of the new pet purses. Maybe the little bunny still has to do a diet, what do you think?
Die Kiste der halbfertigen Dinge
Es gibt immer mal wieder so ein paar Sachen, die liegenbleiben. Wochen- oder monatelang packe ich sie von einer in die andere Ecke, sie stehen eigentlich immer im Weg, dabei fehlt eigentlich nur noch eine Naht. Heute hab ich mich mal aufgerafft und die Kiste der halbfertigen Dinge leergenäht, bevor das iPhone5 oder Elefanten komplett aus der Mode kommen…
There are always some things that are left behind. I put them from one corner to another for weeks or even months, even though there is only one last seam to be done. Today I finally am done with some things from the box of unfinished stuff, hopefully before the iPhone5 or elephants aren't up to date any more...
Neues Jahr, neue Pläne!
Ich war am Wochenende mal so richtig fleißig! Nicht nur, dass Thore und ich den ganzen Samstag putzenderweise in der Küche verbracht haben (4 Jahre ohne Dunstabzugshaube, ich sag mal, es wude echt Zeit. Iiih!), nein, die restliche Zeit habe ich mir neue Tierbörsentiere für euch ausgedacht! Es gibt da noch so ein paar Klassiker, die eigentlich nicht fehlen dürfen:
I was very productive this weekend! Not only did Thore and I clean the whole kitchen on most of the Saturday (it was more than neccessary, I can tell you…), the rest of the time I spent in front of the computer drawing new animals for new pet pouches. There were still some all time favourites missing in the gang:
Und dann habe ich noch was ganz neues ausprobiert. Mini-Knopf-Ohrstecker! YAY! Ganz schön fummelig, aber mit ein bißchen Übung… Der Stoff ist bestellt, ihr dürft gespannt sein. Ich bin es jedenfalls, und hoffe, dass die Motive in der Größe funktionieren! Am liebsten würde ich sofort loslegen, aber jetzt heißt es auf die Stofflieferung und die nötige Zeit warten…
Then I also tried something completely different: mini-button-studs! YAY! It's a little fiddly but with a little practice… The fabric is ordered already, I'm really anxious whether the motifs will work in such a small scale! I'd love to start working at once, but now I have to wait for the fabric delivery and some more time...

Es begab sich, dass mich vor einigen Wochen eine Mail erreichte von Michael von Hallå Fabrics, Stoffhändler aus Kalifornien (übrigens mit einem sehr schönen Online-Shop), der sich auf lillestoff-Stoffe spezialisiert hat. Komischerweise ist in den USA die Nachfrage nach Europäischen Stoffen sehr groß, während wir hier Amerikanische und Asiatische Stoffe besonders toll finden… Alles was man nicht hat…
Er schrieb mir, dass er meinen Zirkuswelt-Stoff bestellt hat und die Lieferung kaum abwarten kann, weil er ihn so schön findet. Ich hab mich natürlich riesig gefreut! Seine Frau Samantha hat eine Firma gegründet, Poppy Fields, die Stoffwindeln herstellt, und zwar fast ausschließlich aus lillestoff-Stoffen. Heute erreichte mich ein Päckchen aus Kalifornien mit einer Beispiel-Zirkuswelt Stoffwindel (und hawaiianischem Bio-Honig, lecker!). Wie genial ist das denn bitte? Nicht nur erzeugen Stoffwindeln wesentlich weniger Müll, sie sehen auch noch total cool aus! Muddis, kauft alle die grandiosen Stoffwindeln von Poppy Fields!
A few weeks ago I received a Mail from Michael of Hallå Fabrics, a online fabric store owner from California (a very pretty online store by the way…), who specialized in lillestoff fabrics. A funny fact, that US customers are interested in european fabrics, as here it is the same wit US fabrics…
He wrote, that he just ordered my Zirkuswelt fabric and he can't wait because he thinks it is very beautiful. I was just glad reading this! His wife Samantha founded a company, Poppy Fields, that produces cloth diapers mostly from lillestoff fabrics. Today I received a parcel from California with a sample cloth diaper made from Zirkuswelt fabric (and a glass of Hawaiian Organic Honey, Yummy!). How incredibly awesome! Not only are cloth diapers much more eco-friendly than ordinary diapers, they also look much better! Moms of the world, go and buy the terrific cloth diapers from Poppy Fields!
